– INTRODUCTION TO SALSA BASICS –
* THIS SESSION OF THE BEGINNER CLASS HAS BEEN
OPENED TO THE COMMUNITY TO GIVE ANYONE
INTERESTED IN LEARNING SALSA TO COME TRY FOR FREE!
THIS 6.30PM SESSION IS A FULL STARTER CLASS
and will prepare you for the main Beginner Cuban Salsa lesson
with
* Easy to follow, step by step breakdown of the main basics and turns
* By the end of the session, we put you together with a partner
to show you how to dance together to music
* Come as often as you like
* Learn at your own pace
* No pressure to stay on to do any of the pay classes
* Come make new friends and keep fit & healthy
* ** All students doing the main 7pm Beginner Salsa class
MUST first attend this class

Ideal for students who are confident with
their Beginner steps and turns. This level will
extend your dancing to the next level.

WHAT IS RUEDA DE CASINO?
Rueda De Casino, also called just ‘Rueda’, in it’s basic form means
‘Casino wheel’, where dance couples comes together to form a circle, with
one main ‘caller’, who calls out the names of different Cuban Salsa figures
made up of different sequences of fun dance moves, which are danced
by the couples in synchronisation. As the level of the dancers improve,
so does the figures performed become more elaborate and complicated,
and with a constant change of partner calls, make the dance fun and
exciting for the dancers, as well as spectators who view the dance.
These figures are also used in individual partner dancing.
* Class times may run a little later
due to registration delays on busy nights.

CLOTHING & SHOES:
Comfortable casual clothing.
Best shoes are low or flat smooth sole shoes
when starting, like leather sole shoes.
Avoid sandals, open toe shoes.
Avoid high heels when starting to avoid injury
Avoid track shoes or runners as these grip the floor & can hinder your turns
MEDICAL:
Anyone with breathing problems, heart conditions, knee,
back or shoulder injuries and who are taking prescribed medication,
please consult with your doctor first before joining any classes.
